This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Under wet road conditions and hard rain, when applying brakes, consumer has to pump brakes a few times before there is any braking action. Dealer cannot find problem.
Brakes have a huge delay when driving in wet conditions. Unlike any car I have ever driven. When traveling at highway speeds it can be as much as a one second delay until the brakes kick in. I have contacted the dealer and they say that this problem can't be fixed. My only hope is that Audi of America will do something about this.
Under wet conditions, brakes are dangerously slow to grab. There is a noticeable and very disconcerting delay of appx 1-2 seconds. The condition is worsened by driving without braking for distances >10 miles. Please, please, please contact Audi concerning this problem as it is well documented and dangerous to me and others.

When driving and upon depressing brake pedal when attempting to stop, experienced complete brake failure without prior warning which caused extended stopping distance. Also, directional signal and emergency lights malfunctioned.
When driving between 50-55 mph and upon depressing brake pedal to make a gradual stop slowly pumping the brakes, brake pedal traveled to the floorboard, causing extended stopping distance. Consumer noted that prior to the incident brake light was illuminating on the dashboard. Vehicle currently at the dealer awaiting service.
Wires breaking caused air conditioner failure. Breaks pull to right when wet/moist. Door assembled wrong (caused wind noise) had to take in 4 times to repair.hood/ oil pump broke emptying oil on driveway. Front suspension squeaks and ABS comes on when backing up while breaking with wheels turned.
In wet conditions, my brakes have delayed braking power. The wetter the conditions the more frequent and severe. After the delayed loss of braking power (approx..5 to 1 second), the braking power appears to go back to normal. Similar to riding a bike with wet rims except that the car's braking power recovers faster. Very scary when you're cruising along on the highway in wet conditions with traffic and you come up on an unexpected bottleneck. I mentioned it to a dealer in santa clara, but he seemed clueless. He thought it was a function of the ABS, but I know what ABS feels like. I think it has to do with wet disc brakes.
Brakes take 2-3 seconds to grab during wet conditions. This has happened many times. 2000 models have brake shields that 1999's do not have. Dealer says they cannot do anything until Audi tells them officially. Please investigate.
The brakes on my 1999 A4 suffer extremely reduced performance (way beyond what is normal) in wet consitions. I realize that some reduced braking effectiveness is apparent in all cars in wet conditions, but twice now I have slammed on the brakes in very rainy conditions and nothing at all has happened for over a second!!!!!! other A4 owners have also reported this problem, and Audi responded byu enlarging the front brake shields for MY2000 cars. There should be a recall to fix this defect; it is extremely dangerous.
In rainy conditions, the brakes exhibit a dangerous 2-3 second delay causing greatly impaired braking ability of the car. Almost hit a car in front in two instances despite more than adequate distance. Brakes work normally in dry weather however.

Delayed braking response in wet conditions. If the brakes are not used for some time in wet conditions, water will build up on the front rotors and cause a 1-2 second delay in initial braking response.
