This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
During highway driving in the rain, water develops on the brake pads/rotors, causing the delay in braking. Water buildup seems to occur after about 2 minutes of driving in moderate or heavy rain. Braking delay is about 1.5 seconds. When brakes grab, they sometimes grap unevenly, pulling the car to one side or the other, until all 4 corners have cleared the excess water...then normal braking response resumes. I have worked as a professional driver, driving different vehicles over long distances...this is not normal!!! I know from on-line forums that Audi has not diagnosed the problem, and as such, does not have a fix out yet. I tried replacing brake pads, this did not help.
Brakes take 2-3 seconds to respond on first use when driving in very wet conditions. Has happened about 12 times in the last year. Dealer service department offered no fix.
