Audi said they could fix the U joint for the steering as its a know problem. That would be $1400. BUT its a safety issue and if they fix it, then the U Joint is still exposed and will become another problem in a few years. I covered the U Joint with marine grease and it seems to have helped, but I have to recoat it again and again. The joint is exposed and there should be a boot on this exposure to keep it from being weathered. ITS A SAFETY HAZARD.

The Steering wheel tightens up while driving. I went to the dealer in October 2018. The estimated cost was $2,500 for replacement. I had no extended warranty. I called the main office and advised them that there should be a recall on these complaints. They advised that all complaints from Audi are reported to the National Highway Safety and based on the amounts of complaints received, they make the determination on the recalls. I hope something can be done before someone loses their life. I personally feel Audi is covering up. This is a Major problem. Safety is # 1 on the road especially on the highways. I hope the better business bureau can step in to help.

I pay nearly $700 a month for the steering to be this faulty and hazardous. Is awful on high speeds, the car does not stay on straight line, it goes left and right. It gets stiff resisting my correction to go back to the center of the lane. The electromechanical system of steering is not doing the job or good force design of a box front, but even on city streets I experience the steering resistance.

I see many other owner complaining about the steering performance. Please make report to NHTSA 1888 3274236 or 1800 424 9393 - National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and have them go after Audi for this unwarranted hazard to our lives, they need to recall Audi A4 models and get it fixed or sue them for putting our lives at risk.
