Hi - I have a recurring problem with the brake rotors on my 2016 A6 Avant 3.0L Bi Turbo Quattro.
They apparently warp, on average, every 5-6000 miles. It started in Feb. 2020 at 25k miles. It's now on 45k. Bought car with 20k on the clock. The dealer is measuring run-out while on vehicle and generally getting a mismatch between NSF and OSF in the same range each time. EG 0.02/0.10 and 0.07/0.19
The fronts have been changed 4 times - and they failed again within 750 miles! Rears have failed once.
Dealer can find no underlying causes but has not considered DTV, contaminated hub or inner wheel face, lower control arm distortion or worn bushings.
They say the problem can only be with the Audi parts and suggest fitting Brembo rotors (like for like) with Audi pads or, Brembo if I prefer...! When I try to discuss this, highlighting many international forums citing other possible causes, the dealer and Audi dismiss this as hearsay saying "Audi have no records of any such problems' . . . So, IT IS BACK IN THE SHOP AGAIN.
