Starting driving the car in March of 2026 where it started to show numerous errors with the safety features being disabled. The car would give warnings and blare a sound along with it making it nerve wracking to drive. Brought to dealership who told me it needed a software update (KD2) which would resolve the problem. The car refused to update for over a week - when it finally did it was in shop for almost a week. While pulling out of dealership, it started giving the warnings. Called the dealership back and told them I was away for a month and would bring it back when I returned. Brought it to another dealership after returning to be told there was yet another update (KD2*) that would definitely fix all my issues and to just ignore the warnings and drive it like a human without all the safety features.
I had never used the cruise control due to this issue but when we tried it the computer started to scream warnings. I set the appointment for the new update. Then after lunch one day went out to take it home and it showed a red warning that there was a steering malfunction, a tire was falling off and three pages of warnings telling me to stop the car. After numerous attempts to reset system, went to drive it like a human and the steering was stiff and difficult to turn. Called audi tow program and got the tow truck to send it over to the dealership. Audi told us there would be a credit for a lyft which never happened so we had to get my mom to pick us up. The dealership called me to say they had my car that Monday and told me my appointment wasn't for another week (lol). They also told me the service guy I dealt with wasn't in until Tuesday so I had to beg to get a rental car.
The dealership did the KD2* update (which took a week). It also has an inoperable rear window which they ordered the part for. Picked it up Friday with no errors! Saturday night I charged the car only to wake up to a bunch of errors (but it did charge) unplugged the car and the car wouldn't move. It said it was a high voltage electrical system malfunction, charging system- malfunction and when I went to move it the car said it was still connected to the charger. Called audi tow which took 7 hours to arrive. We had to push the car onto driveway so tow truck could load the car. Car was unable to be moved even by audi techs which took them over a day to figure out. They claim its the control box which is only available in Germany and is back ordered. My car is in pieces. Reached out to Audi corporate to do a buy back which they are currently reviewing.
