This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
While vehicle was in reverse, vehicle unexpectedly accelerated. When brakes were applied, pedal went to the floor, causing loss of vehicle control which resulted in a collision. Consumer has been told that there is nothing worng with the brakes, however this incident has happened twice.
Went to brake, pushed pedal to floor, nothing happened, policeman also concurred no brakes, been at dealership for 4 wks claim brakes are fine didn't replace anything.
Intermittantly, the brake pedal goes to floor while braking, extending stoppping distance. Goodyear and monroe mufflers/ brakes unable to diagnose, GM dealership unable to find a problem. I am returning car to dealership to have ABS and master cylinder replaced (cost of about $1500) because I don't know what else to do. Hopefully, this will fix the problem, it just is not safe to drive this way.
Front brakes wear excessively. When the brakes are applied the pedal goes to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer has replaced the rotors and the pads six times.
After appyling the brakes and coming to a complete stop the pedal will travel to the floor, cause unknown. The vehicle has been in for service on three occasions, but dealer cannot find out why this occurs. After applying brakes, there was clunk noise coming from engine compartment and the brake pedal goes down to the floor due to a shorting in right front ABS sensor wiring harness.
