After bringing the vehicle to dealer for fuel rail recall repairs vehicle started up slowly. Then, consumer took the vehicle to dealer for an oil change, and mechanic discovered ranched, pliers, and a socket extension. Dealer was contacted, and they stated they wanted them back. Vehicle was still running very roughly, and the dealer wanted to replace the fuel pump. The consumer was charged $50 to analyze the defect.
Consumer received recall04V110000. However, the vehicle blew up before the recall came about. Consumer contacted the Cadillac manufacturer. She was told that there was nothing they could do.
Consumer received NHTSA a recall letter#04V110000: Regarding fuel rail. Dealership still does not have the parts available to conduct recall repairs. Dealer indicated to the consumer that he should wait an additional two weeks.
The fuel line connection to the fuel pump on the 1996 Cadillac deveille faile spraying fuel on the car and ground creating a fire hazard. This apparently is subject to a recall as GM recall # 04014. We have not received a recall notice nor been informed of the hazard. Vim 1gkd52Y7tu300292.
Was driving, smelled strong gas odor. Fuel rail leaking. Worried about a car fire. So much for being a GM customer all my life they have had several of these complaints and do not recall it.

When starting the vehicle a gasoline odor entered the passenger cabin. Also, the vehicle's start time increased. Vehicle was taken to a Firestone dealer, who determined that fuel was leaking from the fuel injection rail system.
There was a gasoline smell inside the vehicle. The consumer popped the hood and noticed that fuel rail was spraying gas onto the fuel line. The fuel line was replaced with a new one.
