- the contact heard a loud pop come from under the hood of the 1996 Cadillac Deville and also noticed smoke coming from under the hood. The contact turned the vehicle off, and then noticed there flames were coming from under the hood. The fire department advised the contact that cause of the fire was a problem with the fuel. The vehicle currently had 115000 miles. The contact stated there was a recall 04014 for the fuel system.
There is a gasoline smell when driving vehicle. Took vehicle to mechanic and they stated that fuel injection line had two pin holes in it, and raw gas was spraying over left front of engine. Consumer felt car could catch on fire. The consumer stated that after repair, gas was smelled again. At this time took to the dealer and they found fuel rail was leaking in a different place and replaced it.
