Car was running fine and then I stopped for gas and it would not turn back on. It gave me a message on dash that said "no fuse" and nothing would work. I broke down over an hour away from my house and had to sleep in my car when it was freezing out because I had no other options. I was told it would cost $1,800 to fix and the part needed was out of stock and I would have to wait 3-6 months. The auto shop then recommended that I just get a new car... I have not even owned this car for 2 years yet and it has given me more issues than my old car that was a 1996...

I bought the car in april 2019 from the dealer....car ran fine until 9/27/2019 my son drove car to see a friend came home and parked it.... that next morning car wouldn't make a sound, I was told it was the battery changed battery, then the alternator, brand new alternator installed, then I was told it was starter, that was replaced to , all within 2 weeks, car started ran for aproxiamately one hour and shut off coming from getting a diagnostic test.. had it towed to my house..after that the dealer said well tow it to our mechanic and we will have him check and work with you on payments, since I was still paying the note.... his mechanic said it would be $150 for the tow, no so I told the mechanic I have had a certified mechanic look and do the work still nothing is working, later I was informed about the TIPM, So I went online and order that too. had it installed and yet the damn thing still wont work, now im checking relays and wiring....the vehicle its a nice color, but will I ever get this kind of vehicle again....NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.....

Dodge immobilizer kicked in on my "kid".

Zero crank. Car just sits there with the light on but nobody home. Apparently I have to get it towed to the dealer for them to work their overpriced magic on TIPMs, ECUS, WIN modules, BCMs, SKIMs and whatever alphabet soup of insanity the engineers came up with when they designed this piece of garbage.

If there was a way to delete all this immobilizer crap I'd do it in a heartbeat. Car was only 500 bucks anyways. I'll probably scrap it. I had a Caravan that was garbage too and I said "never again" to Chrysler products. Should have lived by my own advice.

The battery has been replaced 3 times since April, 2015. I have taken it to a reputable mechanic 3x and the dealership 4x. I live alone and this is so frustrating having call road service twice, having it jumped a dozen times and it has less than 70,000 miles on it.

Avenger R/T 2.4L

Initially started with a "No Start/Stalling" problem. Paid to have the TCM Throttle Control Module replaced and car worked well until early Oct. 2015. Stalling and "No Start" problem resurfaced & new issues arose. As you were driving the various dash board warning lights would flash on/off & accessory bell would begin to chime. It felt as if you lost power then it would stop then a brief time later the same thing would happen.

On numerous occasions you would try to start the car and it would not, no sound, no cranking, no clicking etc., it just seemed as if everything had died. Normally after 4-5 tries it would then start and seem to again run "normal" for awhile. Again, took it to the dealer and code supposedly showed a loss of communication between the TCM & the PCM. Replaced the PCM (they had to reprogram it) which was covered under warranty fortunately.

Again, about 2 days later same issues arose with "no" clear fix to the problem. Next step per the dealer would be to possibly replace the TIPM ( Totally Integrated Power Module) which is like the brain of the car but... they would not say that this would fix the problem. Cost of the TIPM installed approx. $820.00. I called Chry. Customer Care & have a case Mgr. looking into the issue as I am taking vehicle back to dealer to once again try to find a solution to the problem.

I did some research and have found that my Avenger has many of the characteristic's of a faulty/defective TIPM. The TIPM it seems has been an on-going issue with Dodge,Chrysler & Jeep vehicles from model year 2007 and newer.
