cracked windshield

I came to the parking garage at my work and got in my car only to find a "W" like crack in my windshield, spanning the windshield. I just purchased the car eight months ago. The crack, which I have attached a picture of, is perfectly centered in my windows and started from a tiny chip in the window. I live in Phoenix, AZ and we do not have severe temperatures here and I was parked in a parking garage all day, away from the sun and any weather interference. I have seen cracks before and replaced several windshields in my lifetime and know this is not a result of a rock, but rather a defect in the way this windshield was manufactured. Immediately after it happened I scheduled an oil change appointment at the dealership where I purchased the car and upon arriving at the service center, I showed the representative my issue with the windshield. I was immediately denied any kind of warranty repair because they don't cover broken windshields and to call my insurance company. The service guy even told me cracks like that happen all the time. The glass replacement contractor working inside the service center told me he never saw anything like it.

I came home and even sent a couple emails to Dodge and they again denied my request because they talked to the service department and advised me to call my insurance because it is not their problem. Dodge not once asked me for pictures of my car like your website did and didn't handle the matter very professionally. I refuse to admit that this is an insurance company issue because this is an obvious defect in my window and I want Dodge to fix it. I am paying A LOT of money for this car and I expect to get my money's worth. I work two jobs, almost 70 hours a week to be able to afford nice things and I expect the full value of my dollar and the windshield is part of my financial investment. I only wonder what other parts of the car are manufactured in a cheap way just to save Dodge a few bucks. I am really disappointed in how this is being handled and I hope people out there agree with me that this issue with my window is too weird to be just a random crack.
