This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Tire blew (tread peeled off). Air pressure had been checked the previous evening and was fine. Car was bouncing like the air was low so I pulled off the freeway to make a visible inspection. No visible problems, but I continued through town. About 10 minutes later, the left front tire blew. I was able to maintain control because I was in a 35 mph zone. If I had been on the freeway when it blew, I don't think I would have been able to maintain control. I contacted the dealer where I bought the car the next morning and left a message for the service manager. He has yet to return the call. I will also issue a complaint with Firestone.
