This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
We are extremely displeased with the overall quality of this car. We will be contacting the manufacturer regarding this and other issues with the Neon. Hopefully, a recall can be issued so that other people do not suffer the same problems we are having. No mention of safety defect.
No airbag were deploy - I have been told by the repair shop that 1995 Neons after 50K mileage has this problem - the car rental co. Told me they had 10 owners this month with the same proble for 1995 Neons after 50K mileage.
Consumer experiencing intermittent problem with vehicle stalling while driving; dealer/manufacturer notified, and informed that vehicle not under recall. NHTSA recall #94V033.
Oil leaking from head gasket and engine overheating due to coolant being blown out of radiator into reservoir and then out of overflow. Chrysler paid for half of repair cost because warranty was expired. Research shows this to be a common problem. Chrysler has redesigned the head gasket with a new composite which is supposed to correct the problem, according to the dealer.
When driving at 70 mph the engine check light came on and the vehicle shut down. As the consumer was driving, and when the consumer tried to start the vehicle back up, the vehicle wouldn't start. The consumer stated the water pump/ timing belt and the pinion ring and gear failed also.
This car has been a nightmare since I'll purchased it, I had to have my transmission replaced, my engine light keep going on, my radio keeps going out. If it's not one thing it's another. I will never buy another Chrysler product. My mother has always owned Chrysler but she's change her mind. My dealer only cares about the sale of the car, not the service after you sign on the dotted line. Thanks, nicole
The vehicle has been returned to ron's automotive numerous times. The airbag light, check engine light, turn signals were corrected. It know that the problem with the check engine light prevented us from giving a warning that there was a problem with the engine. All problems appear to go hand in hand. From the information I have obtained over the last 24 hours it appears that this vehicle has numerous defectives which can cause a serious accident. Fortunately in this case no one was injured. This particular car must be a lemon. I would like to find out if it was returned to the original dearship under the lemon law.
Cruise control was set at 63 mph. Coming to brake, did not disengage. Pedal got stuck, did not release. Rearended vehicle in front. Air bag deployed. Had seat belt on. Vehcile caught on fire. This defect resulted in an accident.
While driving the engine check light is constantly on, and the vehicle cuts off. The owner has replaced the battery and has had the starter checked. Owner is trying to contact the M anufacturer.
