Dashboard has significant cracks. These cracks run from the windshield to front of dash (plastic parts) the failure of the integrity of the dashboard could lead to corrosion of wires and other safety components that are under the dashboard.
The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated there were three major cracks from the center of the dashboard that extended to the drivers side. The contact stated that most of the dashboard is cracked. The failure mileage was unknown. The current mileage was 75,237. Updated 6/14/13
Cable holding spare tire underneath truck bed broke. Spare fell to ground. Luckily, I was in a parking lot at the time. VIN# [xxx]. (I could not get the form to accept the number on the proper page. 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 with cracked dashboard. The dash started cracking 3-years ago and has now in pieces exposing everything under it. I've never owned a vehicle until now where this has happened. The instrument panel is loose because of this problem.
The dashboard in my 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 is caving in. It looks like this is happening to many other people. I believe it is a safety issue, because anything that falls in the sinkhole in the dash could cause a short and electrical fire.
Age, weathered plastic dash board falling apart on my truck. Makes me wonder what may happen in the event of wreck with a cracked dash and no wrecks yet. Nothing cannot find an after market replacement dash board.
Cracked dash ~ so bad the area where it attaches at the windshield has broken into little pieces causing the dash to become loose and possibly will fall off.
The dash is made from hard plastic and it started cracking and is so bad now that it is falling apart plus the wiring in the dash is shorting out big hunks of the dash are coming apart.
The dashboard cracked and broke. The problem still existed and will require a replacement part. If the same material was used to construct the replacement part, it will surely happen again.

1995 Dodge 1500 Ram pickup truck with a severely fracturing dashboard which is subject to collapse at any time. I am aware there have been other reported problems similar if not identical to this. Other than this, the truck has been meticulously maintained.
About a month ago my Dodge Ram 1500 trucks dash board cracked down the middle from the window to the front edge and all way through, then everyday it just started cracking all over the place, two large pieces are completely cracked out, leaving two huge holes. Now I've a crack going from passenger side to drivers side! I called Dodge and they said no on recall and it would cost me out of my pocket about $400 to replace it, aside from this when the first crack happened my stereo quit the next day and my air conditioning!
