The dashboard started cracking. That is a seperate failure. The next failure is when going over any bumps in the road, the dashboard lights, rpms, guages, bells cuts off and if you happen to turn the vehicle off, it will not restart. It is not corrected and after contacting chrystler, they opted to do nothing towards the repair.
The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle's dashboard is detaching and deteriorating in clumps. He is worried that the air bags will not deploy because of the failing dashboard. This has been an ongoing issue since the vehicle was purchased in March. The manufacturer stated that they are handling this matter on a case by case basis. Being that the contact is the fourth owner of the vehicle, they will not be able to assist him unless another recall is issued. The engine size was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 125,000.
The contact owns a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle's dashboard is cracked and holes are present on the passenger and driver side. The dashboard had a cover glued to it when the vehicle was purchased to hide the damage. The contact stated that she will notify the dealer today (May 8, 2007). The vehicle does not have cruise control. The current and failure mileages were 138,000.
