While traveling westbound on us 30 in the right lane just pass St rt 603 traveling at 60mph the hood released and came back against the windshield. Was able to slow down on the 4 lane and merge to the left berm to stop safely.
2001 Dodge pick up - hood flew up due to failure of secondary safety latch - purchased replacement hood hinges @ cost $239 - damage to hood also which I did not repair.
2001 Dodge Ram 1500 cracked, falling in dash heater core failure due to ground wire never being secured from factory rear doors will not open by using inside door handle electric lock switch failure passenger side. Hood hinges broke on both sides tailgate cable support drivers side replaced twice
: the contact stated the hood latch failed causing damage to the hood. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop for inspection. The mechanic repaired the hood latch and no repairs were made to the hood. The manufacturer was alerted.

My company owns a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck, VIN # [xxx]. while driving at 50 mph the hood released, flew up and landed against the windshield. The hinges and windshield were broken. But for the grace of god my employee wasn't hurt. Chrysler isn't even interested in investigating what caused this as the truck is out of warranty. At 35 mph hood opened without warning, destroying windshield and hood. There was no secondary latch on hood. Dodge dealer unwilling to investigate because vehicle was out of warranty.
