I signaled for a left hand turn and after about 2 seconds the blinker went from left to right. Now whenever I signal for a left hand turn, the blinker goes left then right after a few seconds.

The switch on my 2006 Dodge Ram that controls the turn signal, wipers and light dimmer does not function properly. It turns the opposite signal on that I have specified, my wipers shut off while driving and it will not allow me to dim my headlights. Driving in the rain is very difficult and turning becomes a problem becasue I never know what signal will turn on. I spoke with mechanics at a dealership who informed me that the problem is so common that the mulit function switch is now referred to as the malfunction switch.

The blinker switch on my 2006 1500 Ram doesn't work. When I flip the switch to turn right the left blinker comes on. Sometimes no blinker comes on. Also, at times, when I turn the wipers on they don't always come on and when they do come on they don't always turn off after turning them off.

I have a problem with the windshield wipers on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab. They will not run for more than one to two minutes on continuous wipe. After that time they will only wipe at an intermittent speed which varies from once every two seconds to once every twenty to thirty seconds, whatever they feel like wiping at. This is a very dangerous situation which I found out just the other day while traveling home from work in a steady rain. During the trip home it became very difficult to see and very unsafe. It is a very insecure feeling not knowing when your wipers will clear your windshield again in a steady rain.

My name is [xxx]and I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck. After purchasing the truck I noticed that every once in a while when I pressed the turn indicator down to turn left, the right turn indicator light would turn on. This happened once or twice a day. A few weeks later this was happening everytime I drove, also the windshield wipers would only stay on low speed. I took the vehicle to a mechanic, and he "re-set" the system. Well, this worked for only a couple days. I had paid the mechanic a large sum of money to fix the problem so I could not afford to take the vehicle back. I drove around with this faulty turn indicator problem for around 6 months. This problem was such a nuisance for me, and not to mention illegal! everytime I took a left turn I would have to place my arm out the window and turn. This was such an embarrassment for me. Finally I took the Dodge Ram truck to a Dodge dealership, and they informed me that the problem was that I had a faulty "multifunction switch" and that it would cost $263 to replace. So I gladly paid the money and go it fixed due to the un-safe turn indicator problem. I have been searching the internet for this problem and found that several people have had this "turn indicator" problem, and it seems to be that Chrysler had installed faulty "multifunction switches" in their 06 Dodge Ram pickup trucks. I am asking you to please issue a recall on these faulty "multifunction switches" in the 06 Dodge Ram trucks before someone gets seriously injured or loses their life. Thank you information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I went to turn on my left signal and it started flashing both ways then the wrong direction stayed on. The failure has been recurring since then and the most recent failure was my windshield wipers started slowing down and delaying even when I had not touched the controls. The turn signals sometime will not come on at all. I understand that this has been brought to the attention of Dodge/Chrysler but no recall or campaign has been issue. The problem is intermittent, but could result in a serious accident.

Problem with turn signal switch, when signaling left turn the right turn signal will blink or sometimes both will blink at same time, also unable to switch high beams on, when lever is pulled the windshield wipers spray cleaner fluid, this should activate by pushing in on handle not pulling on it. If you move the turn signal handle around sometimes it will correct the turn signal issue but still have not found a way to activate the high beams.

My turn signal on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 mega cab gives a wrong signal when least expect it. If you turn on the left turn signal the right one blinks or it flashes back and forth. Just learned of what will fix the problem, it is caused by the multifunctional switch. I have not had it fixed yet but when I do I will keep the old switch. It happenes every couple of days then it stops for a while and then it starts again.

Turn signals operate sporadically. Moving the turn signal stalk to signal a left turn can result in no flashing of the left turn signal but improper flashing of the right turn signal. Likewise when moving the turn signal stalk to signal a right turn the signal will not flash or sometimes will incorrectly signal left. This improper signal appears at both the dashboard indicator light and at the exterior front and rear turn signal lighting positions. Additionally the wiper blades have begun failing to operate when needed. When selecting an on position on the turn signal stalk the wipers will sometimes stutter across the windshield or sometimes no move at all. When the vehicle was under factory warranty the multifunction switch was replaced. This fixed the problem the first time. The vehicle is having the same problem again but is now out of warranty. Factory repair claims it will be the same replacement at owner cost. The problems happen intermittently, and can not be reproduced at will. Over time, however, they are happening more frequently.

I was attempting to make a left turn off the highway, and when I signalled for a left turn with the turn signal, the instrument cluster showed a signal for right turn. I pulled into the left turn lane, and the car which was behind me and continuing straight slowed down and refused to go by me, even though I was in the left turn lane and they had a clear path ahead. This indicated to me that the taillights were also indicating a right turn. There was no accident as a result of this, but the normal flow of traffic on the highway was disrupted. Since this incident, I have watched closely and the multifunction switch has done the same thing several times intermittently. We live near a busy highway in the country, and often when someone is slowing down to make a right turn, the traffic behind will pass on the left. If someone is actually making a left turn, but the signal is showing right, this could lead to a fatal collision. I contacted Chrysler, and they simply told me to get it fixed and hang onto the receipts in case there is a recall. I also found that 2006 Dodge 3500 pickups did have an extended warranty on the multifunction switch for this reason.

I've been having a problem with my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 for a while. The turn signals are all screwed up. When you turn it to the left the right signal comes on. I was almost in a wreck yesterday. How this isn't a safety issue is beyond my comprehension. When I am in a wreck because of this, I plan on suing the bejesus out of Dodge and everyone else who I have notified and who have done nothing to rectify this clear safety problem.

2006 Dodge mega cab w/ hemi. When the blinkers are turned on ( left or right) they blink in the wrong direction or do not blink at all. On my truck they started about 1 month ago and are increasingly getting worse. Now every turn they are sure to mess up. This could be a very serious issue if another vehicle think you are turning 1 way and you are actual turning another. This needs to be recalled..........
