1995 Eagle Talon tsi automatic transmission went out. Here's how... I wasn't even moving and went into the car wash and nothing happened car didn't even move. It will start in park and neutral. But will not go in gear. No sound was made I was going in the car wash and went to push on the gas and car did not go anywhere. So the employee's there had to push it through the car wash. Will not shift at all. Fluid level is good and clean has been served before but why did it go out. I've check everything. By the way im certified in automotives both gas and diesel. So I know what im talking about. So the recall should cover it.... it better. It would cost me over $1800 to fix it.

My wheels locked up while I was doing about 60 mph. It caused me to swerve into the other lane. Thank god there was not any traffic coming or someone could of been hurt. The mechanic said its the transfer case, which is already got a recall but there is a thing that all Talons, eclipses, and lasers get from their years of 90-98, have a thing called crankwalk which can cause accidents also but Chrysler or Mitsubishi wont take responsibility for.

The consumer lost control of the vehicle because the steering wheel locked. The consumer pulled off the road, and the vehicle was towed. The consumer stated that there was a part that came off of the vehicle. It was later found that the transfer case fell out, which caused other damage and low level of oil, even though the fluid level was checked prior. The manufacturer told the consumer that the vehicle needs to be taken to the dealership for evaluation. After the evaluation, the service manager stated this wasn't the problem. Owner has documentation of service records. NHTSA recall campaign 98V069002 transfer case.

Either the seals went bad, or the transfer case went bad, either way, that caused a loss in lubrication, which took out my entire transmission. I had to rebuild the whole thing, all of which ended up costing me $2673!!

Relating to the engine:mainbearing problem, this is the third car of this type I have owned (all vins and reciepts available) that this has happened to. It is referredd to by many as "crankwalk". the oil pressure test show a normal pressure, yet the #4 bearing has been deprived of oil and seems to grind the bearing down slowly until there is so much excessive clearence that the piston starts hitting the cylinder head and destroys the entire engine assemblyl. I have read online posts at www.dsm.org from hundreds, if not thousands, of owners of this same car and its twin - the Mitsubishi eclipse gsx/gs-T - about this same problem and wonder why if there is so many reports of this happening, why have they not been recalled.

I bought the vehicle new in February of 1995, thirteen months after buying the vehicle the timing belt snapped. The engine was essentially replaced. Three months later the water pump failed and was replaced, it failed again and was replaced again. The vents on the dashboard popped out and had to be replaced, they have since popped out again. The horn relay has been replaced twice and still does not function properly. The brakes were resurfaced after about 4 months because of a defect. The alarm has been replaced three times. The battery has been replaced twice. All of these problems occured in the first three years I owned the vehicle. In the past four months I have noticed a very strong odor of fuel in the car, I have brought it to several mechanics, without success. The car had developed a stalling problem about a month ago - in an attempt to correct the problem my mechanic replaced the gasket kit (leak) because he felt the plugs were getting wet. About three months ago my front and rear wipers stopped working, I tried replacing the fuse, they still don't work. Last week on my way to work my car lost all power and I am now told that my transmission is shot and needs to be rebuilt. Help!
