The driver's seat belt will not retract properly. Results in extreme slack while operating the vehicle. The failure mileage was 78,600.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford C-max hybrid. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to Ford of montebello (2747 via campo, montebello, ca 9064 (323) 838-6920) to be serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 16V643000 (latches/locks/linkages). Several days later, the contact noticed that the seat belt indicator failed to illuminate while driving various speeds. The front driver side and/or front passenger side seat belts were unlatched. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing of the seat belt warning failure. The manufacturer was also not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,114.
