Fiesta SE 1.6L

  • Manual transmission
  • 23,000 miles

I am the 3rd owner of this car at only 23,000 miles. I think this is because of the electrical short in the dash that randomly causes the all the idiot lights to flicker on, the headlights to flicker at night whenever I use the turn signals or push any button in the car, and the door locks to randomly not function when the car is off (which makes it very difficult to open back doors or get in the trunk). It is very common for this Fiesta to freak out when I turn it off - everything starts flashing, and you can hear the BCM module in the dash clicking. After these episodes, on the next start up the car has to 'relearn' the climate control system, a turn signal may flash, and other annoying tendencies also occur. Ford already reprogrammed every module in the car, and that helped somewhat. Ford is stating now that the dash needs to be removed in order to find the short in the wiring. I figured that it was a faulty TCM, however Ford is stating that it is not the TCM since it is a manual transmission car and not automatic.

My Ford Fiesta has an electrical problem. I am about to take it in for the fifth time for the same issue. The car check engine light comes on and the car rapidly decelerates. I have to floor the gas pedal to move the car off the road. I then have to turn off the ignition and turn it back on. This resets the car. The car will drive fine for a couple of more days and then repeats the issue until I take it for repair. Each repair visit "fixes" the car for 10-15k miles. The first three visits were under warranty but each time the car was in for a week and I had to rent/Uber where I needed to go. The fourth visit ended up being $1200 because Ford refused to stand by the car. Now I am looking at the 5th visit.

Fiesta ES 4

  • Automatic transmission

I fell in love with my car almost 26 months ago. I saw the truck pulling in to the dealership when I was returning home from work. I told my daughter I want that car. 7 days later, I went and purchase the car. I can tell you my life has never been the same again. This is the first time I bought a Ford because I am kind of a Chevy Gal. This was my first and probably my last. Before my car's 1st month with me I started having issues with the transmission grinding when first taking off and it gradually got worse. My car has been in the dealership for the issues 6 times in 2 years and going in tomorrow for the 7th time for a new clutch and now I am also having electrical issues. My car currently have 50k miles on it.
