Fusion SEL 3.0L

was going grocery shopping ten miles from my house, about 3 miles from destination, the car suddenly lost power and started shaking.. we went shopping , and on the way home , luckily we made it at 40 mph, the car would shake and accelerate and then lose power.., went to my local parts store and they plugged in the diagnostic tester , and it said its bad cylinder/coils 3 and 6,,,misfiring...haven't fixed it yet but after looking around online, I am not the only one that has had this problem.

Fusion SE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 89,000 miles

The check engine light, and powertrain fault light both came on. I called the dealer and was told due to private

transmission company's being overwhelmed with work, they (the dealer) has taken work from them, and their transmission techs are therefore unavailable.

I called a trusted mechanic. He stated the codes are showing something internal in the transmission, and suggested transmission shop. I called them, and was able to take it right in. They called back same day, and said, the problem is internal. My transmission fluid is burned. I was told Ford only made this transmission for 3 years. Mine is a 2008, and Ford does not make the rebuild parts. So the only option was to replace it if one could be found thru an after market dealer. They did happen to find one, and the cost is $7000.00 plus shippng and installation. Needless to say, that is not an option. The transmission shop was able to reset the lights, and when I drove it off the jerking in the transmission has stopped. However, if i drive it more than 5 miles, and can smell the burned smell when i get out, I had the transmission flushed at the dealer 7 months ago.

It just turned over 89K. I bought it new, and have been extremely current on all changes of oil, oil filter, air filter, etc. As many of the same type of problems i am seeing on these forums their needs, and should be a recall. This has definitely changed my mind of considering the purchase of another Ford.

Fusion

  • Automatic transmission

This problem with my car started around the beginning of July. When I started the car, it would sputter and the wrench light comes on and caused the engine light to come on. Once the car has been running for a while, if I re-start the car, it will not happen. It's frustrating, I have no power when I am accelerating or it will accelerate on its own in which I have to pull over and get the car stopped and shut it off. Why is there not a recall on this?

check engine light on

I bought Ford Fusion SEL car Sept.1st.12, from private party, and transferred warranty under my name. Now car has 70460 miles on it. After I got car couple weeks, the car engine light and oil light on, also start making noise from engine are. I took my car to San Leandro CA Ford dealership service Oct 16. l most two weeks passed, the service guy back forth pass ins. company message to me telling me ins. Company isn’t willing to cover repairing. Despite, Ins. Company knew its engine problem. The reason for them is the former owner didn’t maintain his car well. From what I learn is in 2008 Nov.07, the car had same problem when it just ran for 13,000mile. In 2009 Jan. 09, this problem appeared again. This car also had lots other problem too. That mean this car in its past, didn’t fix it right, and the quality of this car is poor. The former owner said, “I had that car faithfully serviced at the Albany/Walnut Creek dealership n always at the scheduled times. Why I wouldn’t take it in? I had purchased and extended 100k mile maint warranty n also a 75k mile extended engine warranty. If it is the wreck n poorly maint car you claim this Ford dealer is stating why would I let my two –paid 4-warranty maint contracts go to waste?”

Due to this car poor quality, I’m afraid even Ford fix this time, I assume that the problem is still potential exist. If I don’t get a new engine put on this car. After period time, same problem may be back again. I pretty sure Ford will shirk responsibility for taking care of all the chargers. I already learn how hard for me to claim now, although my car is still covered by my warranty. below is history of car problems. Former owner bought in 2008 Dec.11. on his title paper.
