Mustang Convertible 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission

The problem seem to occur if the car had sit for more than a week. However, not always. We thought maybe it was the trunk light when trunk wasn't shut tight, but now have proven that is not the problem.

Mustang Convertible 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,400 miles

Had a new battery replaced March 15th, 2017, because car would not start, test did reveal a dead cell. However, car set for 8 days while we were ont a trip and new battery was really dead on the 31st, not even a dome light! Charged battery and it checks to be OK is is the starting and charging systems, but still seems to have an unknown drain while setting. This is actually the fifth time this has happened over the years (bought the car new), but had always thought it was human error before. Just beginning to research different methods of checking why the drain, turned radio off to see if this helps in the future.

Mustang, low mileage, won't hold charge. I have replaced the battery twice and still have the problem. I have had to have AAA start my car 3 times already this spring/ summer. Ford charged $89.00 for a complete check and says nothing is wrong but the battery needs to be charged. Remember this is another brand new battery 2 months old. My next thing to try besides keeping a charger on it is to pull the radio fuse. I read the Shaker 500 may be the problem. If any has a clue please let me know.

Mustang Coupe 4.0L V6

  • Manual transmission
  • 6,500 miles

I had no issues with the car when I drove it every day, but when I stored it for the first winter I went to move it in the garage after two weeks and battery was dead... since then I have replaced the battery three times because whatever is going on "shorts" the battery out and not just drains it. Yesterday I bought a quick disconnect for the battery (that needs replacing again) and I will have to lift the hood every time I turn the vehicle off and disconnect the battery so I'm not left stranded.

IF FORD IS LISTENING>>> Recall this BS! It's not the Darn radio!!!!!!!!!! Way to many of us Stang owners are having this issue.

Mustang GT 4.6L 3v Ohc V8

Okay, from the very day I bought the Mustang - if she sits for more than 5 or 6 days, she won't start! I went on vacation and came back and - dead - no cranking power whatsoever. I mean the battery was completely drained.

This problem went on for months - back and forth to the dealership but of course every time they put on diagnostics, nothing showed up wrong - well dah!! I had to get the car jump started in order to get her there. Finally one time I told them to send a roll back to tow her up there while she's dead. BTW, the tow company (Riley's towing) was AWESOME! They treated my baby like she was worth a million dollars!! I've never seen anything like it!

After several times to the dealership, still Ford could give a rats-ass about it. I am talking a dozen or more times trying to pinpoint the problem. The dealership tried everything. I even printed off a Forum full of other Mustang GT owners having the same issue and they forwarded it to FMC - of course you can imagine how that went...

Okay, are you ready for Ford's solution to the problem.....Battery Tender - WTF!!!! This is a brand new car and they want me to put her on Life Support!!!! I have never heard of anythign so absurd! I could understand if this was a 1969 Camaro restored and never driven but a brand new car. Of course I told them that was unacceptable - that I don't believe a brand new car should be put on Life Support but.... well needless to say, problem never resolved. I have to actually go out to the garage in the winter time (I don;t't drive her in salt and sand) every so many days and start her.

I should've known then that Ford would be a bunch of SOBs to deal with but I like to give everyone more than one chance and to be honest, I would never have expected to have other problems I reported (transmission and clutch - gone) with only 24,000 miles.

FORD MOTOR CORPORATION SUCKS!! BUY A CHEVY - ALWAYS!!!

God Made Chevy - the Devil Made Ford!!!
