Early in July 2015, I received from Ford Motor Corporate an "important safety recall" notice NHTSA recall 15V-339. When I got the notice which urges you to "call your dealer without delay"I called the dealership where I got my car, autonation Ford in torrance, California, the day after I got the notice.. I spoke to someone in the service department; they knew nothing about the recall; put me on hold; said they would have to call me back. To make a long story short, to date I have been getting the runaround from the dealership where I leased the car and the dealership recommended by Ford's customer relationship center I keep getting told the fuel tank shield isn't available whereas Ford customer service advises that it is available.. I have also called your NHTSA customer service number several times--again, put on hold, no call back although I left my number. No one to date has advised me when the parts would be available. I was contacted by a mark johnson yesterday from Ford customer service;, he could not give me a definitive answer re when the parts would be available although customer service had advised they were available. He also tried to defend the one dealership's position that it needed to see the car first to see if there was a fuel or vapor leak--excuse me but the whole point of the recall is so that the car won't develop a fuel or vapor leak!!! he said that at the same time that the safety recall notices are sent out, an email goes to all the dealerships advising them of recall and the parts needed: Really" then why did neither of the dealerships I contacted know about the recall" the run-around I am getting is inexcusable: I live in a state with elevated temperatures and where friends can live long distances from each other: I want this defect fixed--now. Thank you for your attention to this matter..

While driving from South Carolina to boston MA, a distance of 1,000 miles, on June 12-13, 2015, I began experiencing severe eye irritation, sore throat, and dizziness. There was an acrid odor that I initially though was coming from the air conditioning system. The red eyes, sore throat and dizziness persisted for several days after I arrived in boston, reducing in severity with each day because I did not drive the car while there. However, when I drove back from boston to South Carolina, the symptoms reappeared. I took the vehicle to the Ford dealership where I bought it new and they check the refrigerant in the A/C system and could find nothing. They recommended using only the max air system in order to eliminate exterior air from the system. Telling me that certain chemicals used in prepping the engine compartment for delivery to a customer can exude irritating fumes. I told them the fumes I had experienced seemed to me to be more fuel related, but not the odor of raw gasoline. I have been using the max air settings and have not had a similar symptom experience, although I have only driving short distances since returning from boston. I have received recall notice 15S19 from Ford, but I believe the recall notice utterly fails to explain the physical danger to occupants of the vehicle resulting from prolonged exposure to the fumes. I believe the recall notice needs to be amended to express an urgency relating to the medical impact of this problem as I have experienced it. It took more than 10 days for the symptoms, in particular the dizziness and sore throat, to subside.

I was driving down the road and when I tried to brake for a stop light the brake pedal pulsed against the pressure of my foot and would not let me stop. I used the emergency brake to keep from wrecking my vehicle into the vehicle in front of me. I decided to go directly to my workplace, using my emergency bake to stop at each light/stopsign, after this happened. In addition to the brake issue, when I went to accelerate from stop the vehicle would accelerate very slowly as if in a limp mode. No lights have appeared on my dash and Ford has told me there are no codes stored. They say that having it towed has reset my vehicle"!" Ford has told me that because they dont see any codes stored in the computer I should pick up my vehicle and drive off with it. My father ownes a mobile electronics shop and has seen lots of different issues on many vehicles where the cpu's in the vehicle has issues and causes the vehicle to act in many faulty ways. Some with codes, others without. It appears to me that one or more of the cpu's in my vehicle have a defect causing my vehicle to act this way. I feel very unsafe driving this car now and do not agree with Ford that I should continue driving my vehicle.
