I've read many stories about this Van's doors being rendered un-close-able after a gust of wind rips the door out of your hand and flings it past the limiter (actual part name unknown), and in my case cracked it, where the door is so heavy for the hinges and this part it just opens way past it's limit and damages the body, the hinges and the frame of the door. It cost Insurance over $4500 dollars and me $250, but if you didn't have comprehensive insurance you'd be paying that out of pocket because it's not covered under warranty. Granted, it was a 30-50 mph gust of wind, but still you'd think the door being that heavy, and already set to fling open due to the hinge angle, it's set up to fail many times over, and it has. It might need some rework by Ford Engineers in the future.
