We have several 2012-2013 Transit Connects in our fleet. They average about 4k miles/ month. They have break downs from cooling issues at least once a month or two. The idler pulley breaks, tears up the belt, and the water pump wont spin, and overheat instantly. The water pumps seize up all the time. The radiator inlet/outlets break off constantly.
It's never ending with cooling system break downs on these vans. The majority of our fleet is E250's which have problems rarely. We have newer Transit 250's which have been pretty reliable. But these older Connects are pure trash. The longest we've had any of our Connects go without a cooling system failure was 25k miles.
