Picked up girl friend after and work truck wouldn't go into rev. Put in dr. no go. Put in rev., horrible whirling ticking noise, revved it up a bit, slammed into gear, worked fine the rest of the night. Next day, same no go. Tranny probably toast. Come on GM. Recall anyone?

I purchased the Envoy new in Nov. 2001 and have been pleased over-all but I have had multiple problems with service engine lights. At 58,000 replaced several sensors under warranty, first set of brakes was at 123,000 miles GREAT brakes!, Timing chain tension pulley went out 130,000, fan clutch assembly replaced at 162,000. 02/12/10 I picked up my Granddaughter and when I started backing out of their driveway which is kinda steep, I heard and felt a terrific bang that shook the whole vehicle and was followed by a very loud squeal. The vehicle started rolling forward down the hill even though it was in reverse. I stopped it at the bottom, put in drive, neutral and park but nothing. The squealing got a little quieter but did not stop. Now I am debating weather or not to put any more money in it with almost 170,000 miles. The engine is still running perfect and does not us any oil so I'm torn between fixing it or not.
