This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I have had two instances of battery failure - acdelco 75-6yr, the first at the above date and the second on 08/05/2002. Both failures were the same - the positive battery pole broke out of the battery spilling the acid out of the battery and onto the components below the battery. The acid could spill onto critical components such as brake lines, fluid hoses and electrical wires as well as eating away mounts that secure the battery and nearby components. The tow operators and service writers have indicated that this is a common failure of this battery, yet the dealer mentioned above has been arrogantly unresponsive to this known manufacturing defect.
Auto transmission in twice before failed, battery leak damaged elec sys, rear defog stopped working (glass had to be replaced), dealer unable to stop front suspension popping noises, pass seat recliner handle keeps breaking off.
