I'm writing this so hopefully it will help any Jimmy owner that has the issue where truck will start but it won't turn over. This has happened 3 times to date with mine. It has to do with security system. For some reason the truck "forgets" it knows the key and as a security feature it won't fully start. I did notice 2 of the 3 times its happened that right before my security light would come on and stay on while driving however the 3rd time that wasn't the case. Usually the security light blinks on start up and then turns off like its supposed to.

When this happens Google GM passlock and passkey overview or search with GMC Jimmy VATS, turn key car won't start keywords. There are 2 procedures you have to possibly do to: basically reintroduce the car to its key. If the 1st procedure (takes 15 min.) doesn't work then you'll have to do the 30 minute relearn procedure. It's a total pain but it works. Hope this helps because I saw this issue listed in a lot of the categories for this truck.

I have had diagnostics run and about 3 mechanics look at it and no one can figure it out. It will turn over and start for a second and then die. It doesn't matter if there's a full tank or hardly any gas. It doesn't matter if it's hot or cold or if it's been running for awhile.
