I have a 2023 GMC Sierra 1500, 6.2L, quad cab truck, that only has 7,000 miles on it. I was driving home and the error message came up Check Power Steering. Soon after Check ESC, Check Trailer Brakes, Check Restraint System. Then a short while later the power steering quit working all together. Took to dealer, and they had the truck for over a week, and said they can't find the problem, and GM doesn't have a recall. However, in checking the internet looks like GM has had this same problem for a while now with the electric assist going out on the power steering.
Got the truck back yesterday, haven't put more than 50 miles on it, and same problem happened to me this morning. Parked it for an hour while I had breakfast, and when I came back out functioning normally. Then on the way home got the same warning message for, but didn't lose power steering and message went away.
