I purchased this vehicle Oct 2019. I have only driven this vehicle 7500 miles in a year and a half. but I noticed an engine noise in early 2020. The engine was 2 quarts low and it continues to need oil. I received a GMC notice about a possible plugged catalytic converter in March 2012 due to excessive oil consumption. I researched the oil consumption issue and found that GMC issued bulletin #N192291100-01: - Excessive Engine OIl Consumption (Jan 20, 2020).
I approached GMC about this oil burning issue on my vehicle in April 2021. I was told by GMC this coverage on my vehicle ended just a few months ago on Feb 5, 2021. I am also under the 120,000 mileage noted in the bulletin.
I never received this Excessive Oil Consumption bulletin from GMC at any time in 2020 or 2020 or I would have had this critical engine problem repaired by GMC at no cost.
Update April 2020 - GMC has offered to pay part of the cost of this fix leaving me with a minimum cost of $700.
