Alignment shop reported tread separation on one tire; had tire tread separation on another tire confirmed by dealership back in Dec. 2002; replaced a third tire approx. Summer of 2001 due to tread separation. All tires are original equipment on 1999 GMC Yukon with approx. 35,000 miles: B.F. goodrich radial long trail T/a - size 245/75R16

Vehicle was traveling at posted speed, when tire belt separated. Belt caught up in fender well and locked both rear wheels, causing vehicle to swerve left and roll several times. My wife and I are fortunate to be alive. Bf goodrich claims no responsibility, due to their inspection of the tire they noted a puncture. I wonder how many thousand of tires out there have a nail or foriegn object in them right now, that will cause the B.F.goodrich tire to fail and cause serious injury or death. It would be nice to be able to try and recover damages, but I can't afford an attorney, and of course bf goodrich takes no responsiblity. (dot number: Ap70hk1145 tiresize: P245/75R16)

Traveling down the interstate at 75 mph with my two children and husband, and the tread completely and fully separated at the side wall of the tire. A policeman stopped right behind us and remarked that we must have Firestone wilderness tires on it because just about a week before an expidition had 4 fatalaties because of a blowout with the same tires, about 1 mile up the road. No one in our vehicle was injured in our vehicle. We had contacted our dealer, Chevrolet, othe tire stores, and Firestone/Bridgestone. All basically said that it was our problem and that we had better get them changed because they are "death tires" and Bridgestone hung up on us after they remarked that there is nothing wrong with their tires, it was because we didn't know how to drive a SUV.( dot number: Tire size: P26575R16 )
