2/19/14 After a short trip (6 miles) my 2004 GMC Yukon was parked and as my wife walked away she pushed the key remote to lock the vehicle, when she did this a loud explosion was heard in the vehicle, the passenger airbag deployed and broke the windshield, destroyed the side door speaker, and bent the upper dashboard grab bar. It also damaged some electrical wiring as the lift gate fuse also blew out and now won't lock the the rear lift gate. Additionally, the rear air conditioning and heating does not work.

The GM dealer recommended that we contact GM customer service...I called and first spoke to Rick (866-790-5700, ext. 20369) and he set up car file #F1-1277556531. He then referred me to supervisor Shonda (866-446-6963 ext.21653) who then said an investigator would come to Taos NM from Dallas Tx. to review the problem. Unbelievably, Jeff did fly from Dallas to Alb, NM rented a car and drove 3 hrs to Taos to look at our vehicle, and return. His verbal report was that the vehicle was traveling 24 miles per hour when the airbag deployed, yet no explanation as to why it deployed. There is no damage or crash to have caused the air bag deployment. I've asked for a written report, none received yet and GM has refused to fix "their product." I also referred this to my insurance, the adjuster felt that they might cover the damage, but the insurance company called later and said that since there was no accident they can't cover any damage. Now no airbag no air conditioning no neat and no locking lift gate...any suggestions?
