After purchasing this 2017 Yukon Denali in November of 2022 from a dealership, I had it delivered to my house as I live an hour away. I parked it in my garage and only drove it on the weekends at the time. After my first wash of the vehicle about 4-6 weeks later I noticed what looked like over spray on my paint and windows which turned out to be some kind of paint protectant the dealership put on as part of my extended warranty. Then I started looking harder at the hood. To me I just thought all of the swirls and what looked like really bad water deposits, just needed to be buffed out. So I spent an afternoon with all my detailing equipment and proceeded to remove all of this trash.

After 2 days of working on it I came to realize that the problem was a lot worse than I thought. I brought it to a highly recommended auto detailer, where I was told that it was clear coat failure and there had been a lot of vehicles with the same problem but GMC told me there was no recalls on it. The owner of the detail shop also noticed that the roof was also getting bad. He quoted me $1400 to sand and re-clear coat just the hood. I can not afford that !! I brought it to another body shop to see how much they would charge and I was told a minimum of $1200 for just the hood.

I have had countless other problems with this vehicle since it purchase and has spent a ton of time in the shop at the Chevrolet dealership near me. I haven't had time to bring it back to the dealership and leave it with them to address the overspray issue, as its so far away that I would be sitting there all day and not even guaranteed to be fixed in a day, much less that it has been in the shop so many times for all the other issues.

I'm not sure what to do about this clear coat failure issue. Does anyone have any advice so i can finally enjoy my vehicle ????
