rust

I first noticed rust spots on the vehicle, one year after purchase, meaning spots all over the body. Just over a year, the spot on the bonnet spread so fast, it took over the entire front edge of the bonnet. I had checked my warranty and saw that it stated body was only covered for 1 year and I had noticed the rust spots just about two weeks or so over the year. Therefore, I had made up my mind at that point to gather money to do my own repair. Then my boyfriend told me, a friend came to visit him and he had the same car like mine and his bonnet was also rusted.

Then I started reaching random Honda City cars in car parks and inspected their bonnets and I was shocked when I realized every single car I checked had a rusted bonnet. I then realized that it was a factory defect. Eventually I saw an owner next to his car and he verified that it was a defect, his bonnet was still rusted but he advised that it was previously repaired privately since the dealer gave him so much running around to repair.

I first made my report on January 2018. I was only called in July 2018 and advised that my claim was approved but by August when I called back, I was told the approval was lost and I needed to return to get new photos to submit a new request to Honda International. After about 2 months of calling, I was eventually told that my next application was denied because I had a dent on my bonnet (I hit something). By this time, the rust is really really bad, it looked like an old car.

I had so much back and fort with the dealer since they were adamant that they couldn't cover the cost of repairs that I was fed up and gave up. But then my boyfriend went down there (I do not know what happened) and they agreed to reapply. I eventually received approval in December 2018 and the go ahead to carry the vehicle to repair guy in February 2019.

One of my friends who bought his a couple months after I purchased mine got his repair done late 2018 and by February when I went to him letting him know the good news of my finally getting my repairs done by the dealer, he was upset when the topic came up as he showed me that the rust were showing again on his bonnet.
