Cruise control button fails to engage. Several speeding tickets later........ghetto piece of cardboard now stays wedged in so that cruise will work. Honda please replace the junk.

Civic EX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200,000 miles

All controls on the steering column work great except the cruise control button. I have to hold it down for it to stay on. It will not stay engaged on it's own. I've even taped it down for long drives. I don't want to pay to have it repaired at the shop because of labor. Anyone have any suggestions?

Nothing but problem and after problem with my EX. Last month it was the 3rd gear sh*t knob and today the cruise control button won't stay in the "down" position. I refuse to pay over $80 for the replacement button plus labor! NO MORE HONDAS FOR ME!!
