Multiple returns to dealership for A/C issues. I had condenser replaced twice. O rings were replaced. I was told evaporator needs to be replaced. Told damage was debris related or body damage when there is none. Charged for numerous a/c diagnostics. Numerous a/c recharges. A/C is not functioning again & Honda is using the wording of the Technical Bulletin for the extending warranty to deny replacement or repair. This is not just a condenser issue. This is an entire ac system causing a vicious cycle of expensive diagnostics, repairs, replacements, recharges, & loss of vehicle use while in shop once a year at the minimum.

Did notice cold air "warming up" x few weeks, then on a hot day got no cold air. A/C not always used in the pacific northwest. Car is always garaged so little to no defrost needed, and have the Honda maintenance package, with all maintenance done at the dealership. I do have high mileage but its mostly highway cruising - isn't that why you get a Civic - good gas mileage, reliable, dependable - right? So what's going on?

I also have a 2006 MDX with no mechanical problems at all: A/C perfect, I drove it yesterday.

I just read about the TSB on the bad condenser after i got to the dealership- asked the service manager about it and said did hear about it. The service advisor showed me the service tech message on invoice ($160.00 for diagnostic) that I have a "bad A/C compressor recommend replacing" (cost $1400) and asked for details and said there were no signs of external damage on compressor but just leaking. I think this is bad manufacturing. Concerned if same manufacture I have the compressor replaced, the condenser will go bad and, if the compressor was made poorly it will leak again and have to pay for this twice.
