I need to say up front that in all other ways, I really love this car. But I fill my 2011 Insight up with oil and before 3000 miles have gone by, it's dry. No leaks, no drips, no burnt engine smell, it's like it... evaporates. The display shows it at say, 80%, but it's all gone. This has happened a couple of times already so now I just travel with a couple of jugs in the back of the car, just in case. But this car only has 87,000 miles on it, which is still lower than any car I have ever owned at the beginning of our relationship. Honda, I know from experience you can do better!

Update from Mar 3, 2020: Sure enough, this was a known issue. Honda's TB was not publicized enough for my mechanic to have heard of it. So I ended up having a spark plug totally burn itself out and damage my cylinder so I had to have the whole top part of my engine rebuilt. Hooray! Honda, acknowledging their part in the problem, did not charge me the full cost of the repair, though they did have my car for three weeks. Anyway the oil got inside the cylinder and burnt out the spark plugs but one utterly failed so my car sputtered to a smoky halt on the freeway. If you have the oil consumption, look up the TB and take it in and get it fixed before your car sustains real damage.
