While driving the car just turns off. It has to have jump before it will restart. Battery and alternator both check out as ok. The ignition switch has been replaced. Some days the car starts and runs great all day. Then it goes into this stalling business. It makes it quite dangerous when the car quits when driving on interstate, trying to get to shoulder of highway without getting hit due to loss of speed and power. The car gives no warning before it stalls. When you restart it with a jump, you can only drive about 5-10 miles before it stalls again. Again you have to have a jump to restart the car. It is as if the alternator is not charging the battery like it did earlier. The next day or later the same day the alternator charges the battery and the car runs great. When you check the battery or alternator, they test ok. The problem comes and goes. This has happened about 6 times in the past 3 months.
