I have had the car for 3 years and basically all it ever needed was gas and oil. Never a knock, rattle nothing. No warning signs whatsoever. One morning wake up to go to work and nothing. Took it to my mechanic and he hooked it up for a pressure test and 0% compression. Have it towed to dealership and they tell me it's the battery and the starter. My mechanic is baffled? The battery and the starter are likely a little warn as a result of trying to start bit so many times but that is not the issue he tells me.

Next day get a call saying it is the chain on the motor that has lost it's timing and that I need all oil receipts from the time I bought it. I have not provided all oil change receipts and it is now up to Hyundai. The funniest part of the entire situation is when I asked Hyundai if they have ever had problems with this engine and they stated no. I see there are 48 complaints as of now about the engine and let's fact it not too many people take the time to right in these forums so the number is likely into the 100's or even thousands.

I will update once Hyundai gets back to me to see whether or not they stand behind their product.
