While coasting either down a hill or on level ground, my car will suddenly decelerate from 2000 rpms to about 1000 rpms and then jump back up to 2000 again. If I push on the gas pedal it runs just fine, but if I just let it continue coasting after an episode it feels like I am being pulled backwards and my speed drops dramatically.
