Vehicle front suspension makes sound when we drive on uneven roads, bumps. Replaced front and rear struts/shocks twice, bushings, control arms, motor mounts, everything replaced still knock and jumps around on bumpy roads, uneven surfaces and speed bumps. This has been going on 4 years. Front both tires suspension makes this sound.

Yesterday, while I was driving, I made a right turn, and I lost control of the car, going about 30 mph. It turns out, the problem was a recall, dealing with corrosion of the rear cross member steel, due to road salt and water which lead to detachment of one of the rear control arms. Not my fault, defect when the car was made. Had it towed to Thomas Hyundai in Cumberland, MD at lunch time today. Now I'm waiting for it to be APPROVED by Hyundai to have it repaired, and I'm without transportation back and forth to work, becuz they have no loaners. I don't have anyone to take me back and forth to work, or anywhere else I may have to go until it is repaired. They suck!! They have a whole car lot full of cars, and they can't find a car for me to use. That's real nice, especially when I was not at fault for the car breaking down. It's a good thing there was noone behind me or in the oncoming lane, I would have more issues since the car decided to zigzag around the road. So much for customer service, they are unprepared and not helpful.

car began to handle poorly with loss of control & stability

The rear sub-frame rotted out! My daughter had been driving the car and noticed that it seem to handle funny at times. I checked the tires, wheel nuts and found nothing. Then I took the car to work. While driving 65 miles per hour, it began to handle a little worse then suddenly became difficult to control. I pulled over and the rear driver side tire was at an angle! Had to be towed. The frame had totally rotted out and could have resulted in a bad accident. Hyundai said there was no recall so there was nothing they could do. However, they did recall other years with the SAME problem. I also noticed they paid or partially paid for others repair for the same problem. I will be fighting them for satisfaction/repayment for the costly repairs. Has anyone else received payment from Hyundai for these repairs?

My daughter or I could have been killed!

Sonata LX 04

Driving home from a family Christmas party doing 65, started feeling extreme instability. ESC light came on (Electronic stability control) making us think it was electronic. Continuing at a reduced speed, the car continued to dart to the left. On an off ramp the car darted toward the left hand guardrail, with rear tire squealing. We were still 50 miles from home and it was around 11pm. Limped the car home to bring to our mechanic the next day. Nerve racking and white knuckles, made it there. WE COULD OF BEEN KILLED WHEN WE FOUND OUT WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM! When the mechanic had it up on the lift he found that the backend subframe had EXTENSIVE CORROSION. I could not believe it. The car is only 6 years old. If I have them fix it, it would cost me 1200.00. He called a Hyundai dealer who said my warranty expired and there was no recall. NO RECALL? I know this is NOT an isolated incident. This is a very dangerous situation. Cheap materials for big bucks. Risk peoples lives. That's the ticket! I should not have to pay out of my pocket for their incompetance. First of all, I can't afford it. I also can't afford to buy a new car. (It would NOT be another Hyundai) if I could, and now I am out of a way to get around. Never mind to work. Even if they were to fix it. How much longer before something else falls apart on it. I would be afraid to drive it anyway. Certainly no longer safe in my opinion.

Update from Dec 26, 2012: Just want to make sure everyone knows it is a 2006 Hyundai Sonata.
