My Hyundai Sonata is 5 years old with 54,000 miles. No dents, very clean car. A couple weeks ago I noticed that the paint/top coat was peeling off the front bumper. I contacted Hyundai and was referred to an advisor. Atlantic Hyundai, Islip, Long island New York. The advisor was submitting pictures of my car pain to corporate. He said he would get back to me in 2 hours.

3 days later after not hearing from him, I called. He would not get on the phone, but the receptionist informed me that corporate denied the claim since it was out of the 3 year pain warranty. I asked to s/w the advisor and was told there was no reason to and that I had to contact Hyundai corporate. which I have done and haven't heard back.

This problem is obviously a defect in the paint, not an out or warranty issue that Hyundai will not honor. They are not standing by their product at all. There are many people who have had this problem and Hyundai will not stand by it.

Paint started peeling at the lip of my 2013 Hyundai Sonata at 51,000 miles. I took it to a body shop and they told me the paint was defective and car paint should not be peeling like that, they told me to take it to Hyundai and have them fix it as it was obviousley a defect in the manufacturing process. I took it to Hyundai and they said that the warranty for the paint is only good for 4yrs/36,000 miles and they will not fix it. I took it back to the same body shop and he could not believe that Hyundai would not fix it as it was really obvious the paint ton the hood was not applied properly and sealed correctly. I ended up having to pay 470.00$ to get me hood stripped an repainted.
