The air bag warning light stays on. The harness under drivers seat is too short....puts stress on cables and connectors. There IS NO FIX. Even replacing the harness for $3,500 won't "fix" it because they will install the exact same defective harness! SO thousands and thousands drive around with the SRS inoperative. Hyundai STRIDENTLY refuses to help.....from the very top Hyundai US people to the dealerships. According to all of the Hyundai US people:"It's YOUR problem!"

I can't believe that with all the documented issues with just about all model Hyundai's from 2002 to 2013 there is no suggestion of a mandatory recall. When someone dies due to inevitable SRS failure, everyone will wonder:"How could this have happened?? Don't we have safety laws in the US?". Then it will be too late for some people and their loved ones.

My air bag light has been on for quite some time now. The ironic thing is that months ago I was looking for an answer to another problem and stumbled upon this forum about the air bag light always being on. At that time my light wasn't on, but within the next few days -there it was- and it goes off from time to time, but is mostly on. I don't know if it is a loose wire or what, but why is it ALWAYS on?

Update from Nov 15, 2016: I was also told that if the lights are on (any of them) that means that they are enabled and therefore will not work when you need them to? Is that true? So if I'm in an accident and the air bag doesn't deploy because Hyundai can't fix this problem, I am to sue them? Just asking.......
