The contact owns a 2011 Jaguar XF. The contact stated when the vehicle was started, there was an abnormal gasoline odor surrounding the vehicle. The contact stated that there was no gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle, only outside of the vehicle. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel tank flange assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 67,614.

Upon inspection, the contact noticed fuel leaking from the fuel tank fuel outlet flange. The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an abnormally strong gasoline odor would emit throughout the vehicle with the check engine warning remaining illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact discovered that fuel was leaking from the fuel tank on the passenger-€™s side of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V521000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which he linked to the failure. The contact was then instructed by the manufacturer to take the vehicle to a local dealer for an inspection; however, the contact declined. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

The contact was informed that the fuel pump and flange were defective and needed to be replaced. The contact was also informed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

The fuel pump failed for a 2nd time...we replaced it underwarranty 6 mos ago..friends are complaining.I called Jaguar usa they have no interest in this.this is a highly dangerous condition very common in this model.
