Compass Limited 1.4L

  • Manual transmission
  • 12,500 miles

My Dad has a 2018 Jeep Compass and the battery keeps dying. Jeep UK does not want to fix it at all. They keep sending Jeep recovery out all the time, absolutely ridiculous. When I get my first car I am not getting a Jeep at all. Worst car company ever

Compass Trailhawk 2.4L

  • CVT transmission
  • 39,000 miles

This has been happening gradually, when I have taken my vehicle in for maintenance I've told them and they say oh it's probably just a loose wire, they look under the hood and do whatever they do...I have had my whole radio/U connect system shut down, this happened when car was brand new about a month old. They said nothing was wrong, The loose wire thing. Then my start/stop quit working, the light would come on randomly...said it may be the battery for that system but gave me no real answer or solution. Now the push start doesn't start the jeep at all and my remote start also fails to work - I had to borrow a car to get to work. My Jeep is a 2018 with only 39,000 miles and of course my warranty is up...how convenient is that?? I saw that there was a recall on the electrical for the 2018 Jeep Compass, I printed out the info and will take to the dealer...this is so frustrating...now I know why I always bought Toyota's, Ugh!!

Update from Jun 22, 2020: Also had issue of car stalling at an intersection, thankfully was not on a major freeway or highway which I drive daily.

Compass Sport

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

This is the third time that this has happened. My car is not charging my battery, therefore it will not start. It's always on random days, but as stated before this is the 3rd or 4th time in the last month. My "auto-start" no longer works. I took it to a general mechanic and they could not find anything wrong with it. I bought a brand new battery, same brand, same everything. Still happening. My warranty is up since I drive so much, my car turned 2 years old on 10/4/19 and it has 50k miles. It is really frustrating to have bought a brand new car and have these kinds of issues with it only two years later. Starting to think Jeep is not for me anymore.

I am ASE Certified Mechanic, This (Jeep) has not run long enough to have the problems described here except the engine not starting and the parking brake locking up twice within the first month, which made the towing damaging to the tires. I have worked in automotive repair for over 35 years and I know the story they tell me is not the problem, It is the ECM. However, they expect me to wwallow this lie and on top of that I've been loaned a Chrysler Pacifica. Really !!!!!!!
