Grand Cherokee 3.7L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 136,753 miles

The slipping and not shifting into next gear became more frequent over the weeks. Today (2/10/17) was about 3 miles from home going about 40-45mph when the Traction Control light flashed a few times and at the same time it felt like the transmission was slowing me down. I pulled over, checked under hood, under vehicle, ran through the gears with my foot on the brake (shifted fine), took off again but it didn't want to go as if it was in a high gear, and it immediately did the same thing so I pulled over again. Called AAA for a tow home. I'm wondering if the transmission speed sensor(s) could be the issue; hoping it's not internal.

Grand Cherokee 65 V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 186,000 miles

The transmission seems to be getting stuck. It doesn't want to shift and rpms sky rocket. This has been going on at least 3 years. Most of the time if I pull over, stop, turn off the car, and restart it after a few minutes it will be fine. Extremely dangerous seeing as I've had to do this on the freeway a couple of times with my four kids in the car. I am not sure if this is actually something with the transmission, or if it is something electronic.

Grand Cherokee Laredo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 122,021 miles

This is really no fun, the truck seems to go when it wants to. It may rev very high then jump or bump into gear. Very dangerous since my wife usually drives this car i am so frustrated with the many quirks this truck has and upset because I have always wanted one from back in my high school days, glad I did not get it because I would not have money for gas with the multitude of repairs! Help?
