Had car serviced before road trip. MIL light kept coming on. Was told it was an O2 sensor, no big deal if it happened to come on during trip. It did, so did the ETC light and a couple of others. I was 2100 miles from home and a thousand to go when this happened (Cheyenne WY.) the Jeep dealer said he couldn't even look under the hood til the end of the following week.
Found a local mechanic with a good rep, took it to him. He pointed out all the oil on my trailer and on the tailgate. Problem 1, swirl motor failed. This led to problem 2 Turbo Failure. Problem 3 was complicit Fuel Rail and related sensor had failed...and to add insult to injury we have problem 4, pin hole leaks in the inter cooler. This is going to cost 8-9 k before we're done.
The misery continues....it's been almost 3 weeks since the catastrophic failure, inter coolers have been back ordered since April and the fuel rail will be another week. I was floored when I saw these complaints online.....my vehicle is out of warranty and I have maintained the vehicle within recommended limits and its past performance has been great. Has there been any success in getting Chrysler to come to the table for this evidently common issue?
