My ECO Diesel was brand new. They said there was a catalytic converter problem which they had t get from Italy. The problem continued for the next 5 years. Here I am at 99,400 miles and it is in the shop indefinately for the same reason which they cannot figure out.
Bought this car new. The catalytic converter was replaced under warranty at 20,000 miles. Now I'm back to the dealer getting it replaced again 3 years later at 51,000 miles. This time covered under EPA emissions warranty (up to 80,000 miles?), but next time it will be on me. $2,500 to $3,500 to repair. I am used to an exhaust system getting 10 to 15 years service. This is incredibly poor.
READ HERE THAT THIS WAS ONE OF THE PROBLEMS THAT CAUSED ENGINE WARNING LIGHT TO GO ON. THANK YOU CAR COMPLAINTS! I DIRECTED THE DIESEL MECHANICS AND THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM THE SECOND TIME. SERVICE HAS BEEN VERY GOOD AT DELRAY MOTORS IN DELRAY BEACH FLORIDA. THIS IS AN ANNOYING PROBLEM HAVING TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH ENGINE LIGHT ON. CAR RUNS GREAT!
