problem #4

Grand Cherokee Limited V6

When you go to start the vehicle, all of the lights, radio, etc.. come on but it won't turn over. It sounds like it is and then just stops. Lights will stay on until you turn the vehicle off. Mechanic pushed on the gas as he was trying to get it started and is sounds like it's almost there and then stops. This has happened a total of 3 times, and seems to happen every time we get the vehicle washed or it is severely rainy and wet, then a day or 2 later this happens.

1. The first time after sitting longer it started but took some doing.

2. The second time we jumped it and it started.

3. The 3rd (recent) time it would not start at all and had to have it towed to the dealership.

When it started with the jump (2nd time) we took it to the dealership and they said it was the battery in the fob, um NOOOOOOOOO not a fob battery. We believe they lied and were not able to recreate the issue so they changed the fob batteries. Nothing would have worked it it was the fob battery. That was 10 days prior to the 3rd incident where we had to have it towed.

The dealership has it now and is attempting to figure out the problem to fix it. So frustrated to pay almost $40k for a new vehicle and have to deal with it not starting. Vehicle is only 20 months old. I will update more as we find out the issue and what they did to fix it.

Drive the car for extended period. Stop the car to go into a store. Come back out and the car won't start. Wait for a tow truck and then the car starts. This has happened 8 additional times over the last year. Multiple trips to the dealer for help. No help. Chrysler can't identify because there is no code. Replaced PDC, fuel pump, tighten starter wires, tighten and replaced fuse box. Lately I have had the dealer's rental car more than my own car. Chrysler response has been to ignore. Their 'gold star' program must mean to blow you off.
