So stressful. I have talked about it so much at this point I have nothing left to say. I work at a dealership and I loved the Jeep Renegade it was my dream car. Was looking forward to putting a hitch on it to take my dirt bikes out and get rid of my 230k mile F-150. Right before I purchased they replaced the motor and trans mount as there was slight vibration at idle with OEM. Then I noticed it still had a slight vibration but didn't seem bad.

Eventually the recall on the fan happened and caused smoking so got that replaced and thought that solves all. Unfortunately, the slight vibration that never went away got 10x worse after 20k miles and right about 2 years. I picked up my car actually from Chapman Jeep for concerns on leaking coolant which was fine but all they did was have it sit for 3 days under pressure. When I went to pick it up, I turned the car on put seatbelt on, foot on brake then went into Drive. With my foot still on the brake in gear it was Shaking. HARD TERRIFYING I HAVE NEVER HEARD A CAR DO THIS IN MY LIFE YET MY FULL BODY AND CAR WAS SHAKING NOT JUST VIBRATIING SHAKING. I immediately went back inside and had the advisor take a drive with me as my car was not like this before he immediately said oh its the motor mounts with no diag, which concerned me.

Took it back to my shop where I work and had a tech test drive and look under the hood where he believes it could be the mounts even though we had just replaced them 2 years ago! So to get another opinion and get a proper Diag on it I took it to Bill Luke Jeep in Phoenix, AZ where I have a voicemail of the Service manager telling me that there really is no diag that the OEM mounts were bad and defective there's nothing we can do or find to see what is causing them to wear out at rapid speeds its common and normal for Jeep Renegades 2.4L. Defeated I went to go to pick up my car and asked him what the best possible solution is as both oem and the aftermarket will both go out quickly as there is no solution to the wearing of them. He said to sell it now before I spend too much money on it.

Cause now I have to spend around 2k dollars (current prices due to the economy should usually be around 1,400$ still horrible and will probably never go back down) every 2 years EVERY 2 YEARS $2,000 and as time goes on he said it will get worse can go to every 1 1/2 to every year!!! I am defeated I don't have that kind of money especially like I said in this economy and obviously the dealers don't too hence the price raises. I can get it fixed now but if it is going to continue why bother? Now im stuck needing to either fix it and keep spending this kind of money on this vehicle or trade it in with 9k still left on the loan and get another car with the now HIGH INTEREST RATES EVEN WITH EXCELLENT CREDIT. Thank you to whoever took the time to read I just wish I felt heard. if anyone with this issue wants to reach out so I can collect similar experiences reach out on my instagram @angelamrondeau Have a great day!

I don't think motor mounts should fail at 40,000 miles. Have seen multiple problems with the mounts and they should definitely be recalled!

Renegade Limited 2.4L 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,185 miles

Engine motor noise diagnostics resulted in two findings. One was the engine cooling fan issue many others are reporting and now is recalled (received letter in mail today 7/10/19) and that all the motor mounts had already failed. The total cost for $1275, $380 of which was the fan for which I am now seeking a reimbursement. However, the motor mount issues is not recalled. Additionally, no reports on CarComplaints.com but I am finding other reports on other websites of motor mount failures before 60K miles. In the end, both the fan and the mounts replaced and still have noise...
