The exhaust heat recovery unit failed which caused coolant to leak into the exhaust system and the engine to overheat. I had it diagnosed at a Kia dealer and they estimated $4100 in repairs, for a car with a KBB value of $5500. I did not have it fixed and traded it in for only $1500 for a new Honda CRV. I was the only owner of the 2017 Kia Niro and it had 97k miles. I won't own another Kia.
